Production

Liposomes are formed when phospholipids are hydrated appropriately with the formation of Large Multilamellar Vesicles (LMVs). The reduction of the size of these vesicles is achieved by subjecting them to various forms of energy: mechanical (such as extrusion), ultrasonic and by passing them through a filter with a well-defined size at high pressure.
