We conduct feasibility studies, formulation, development, manufacture, characterization and quality control of liposomal products, niosomal and micro/nano-emulsions containing the most varied compounds.

Liposome

A liposome is a small vesicle made of the same material as cell membranes, phospholipids. These molecules have a hydrophilic head (attracted by water) and a hydrophobic tail (water repellent).
Liposomes can be formed from natural phospholipids with mixed lipid chains or hydrogenated phospholipids. The term “liposome” comes from the Greek “lipos” (fat) and “soma” (body). They may vary in size and structure, being uni-lamellar or multi lamellar, and their name reflects structural blocks of phospholipids, not the dimensions.

Niosome

A niosome is a non-ionic surfactant-based vesicle, formed mainly by non-ionic surfactants. Other excipients may also be used to improve vesicle properties.
The niosomes are structurally similar to liposomes and offer advantages such as stability and ability to encapsulate both hydrophilic and lipophilic molecules. They are used in various pharmaceutical applications to improve the bioavailability and efficacy of active ingredients, protecting them from degradation and allowing a controlled release.

Benefits

Benefits include protection of the molecule (active ingredients) against degradation once in systemic circulation; improved temperature resistance for thermolable molecules; Improved resistance to changes in pH for molecules sensitive to it, and especially appreciably improve the bioavailability and absorption of active ingredients. This is due to the particular composition of liposomes, niosome and micro/nano-emulsions. In addition, the possibility of reducing specifically the size of the three carriers allows for increased release and absorption of the active ingredient.
